Ralph Case, 1933-2024
Ralph Case was an award winning New Jersey fine artist in serigraphy. He graduated from Pratt Institute’s School of Art and went on to become an accomplished graphic designer and commercial illustrator with clients such as Warner Lambert, Ciba-Geigy, Silver Burdett Publishing Company, and most notably, the United States Golf Association (USGA). Throughout his early career, Ralph produced a number of high quality silk screens with limited editions ranging from 30-250 prints within the run. He traveled to numerous art shows on the east coast with his family during the early to mid 1970’s, exhibiting his artwork and earning over 50 awards, with the vast majority earning Best in Show and First Place blue ribbons. A serigraph (silk screen) is a high quality, limited edition piece of fine art which became popular in the 1960’s. It is a stencil-based printing process in which ink is forced by hand through a fine screen onto the paper beneath. Each color requires a separate screen. Each vintage print in this auction is an original silk screen created by hand by the artist in the early to mid-1970’s.
